Sword x Staff Oceanic Festival F2P Guide – Can You Clear the Shop?

The beach has officially invaded Sword x Staff, and with it comes the Oceanic Festival—ice cream orders, treasure hunting, summer cosmetics, and enough seashells to make your inventory look like you robbed the entire coastline. The event runs from August 18 to August 31, 2026, giving players roughly two weeks to serve customers in Kanstein, dig through the sand in Ocean Chase, and claim rewards from the Festival Shop.

The big question on every F2P player's mind: Can you actually clear the shop without spending a dime?

The short answer is yes—but the details are a little more nuanced. Here's a complete breakdown of what you can earn, how much you need, and which rewards are worth prioritizing.

Daily Seashell Income – What to Expect Each Day

The Festival Shop uses Iridescent Seashells, which are primarily earned through the Ice Cream Shop mini-game. Each day, a new stage becomes available. You complete customer orders by choosing the correct cone, ice cream scoops, and toppings.

Based on the stages currently available, each completed stage rewards 400 Iridescent Seashells. The event shows 14 daily business stages in total, so if the same reward structure continues throughout the event, this provides a solid baseline for your seashell income.

Daily seashell income (projected): 400 per stage

Important caveat: The event is time-gated, and later stages have not all opened yet. Future stages could potentially introduce different rewards, bonuses, or mechanics. For now, treat the 400-per-stage figure as a projection until every stage becomes available.

Total Event Income – What F2P Players Can Realistically Earn

If all 14 stages follow the same reward structure, the calculation is straightforward:

14 stages × 400 seashells = 5,600 Iridescent Seashells

That's the projected total from the Ice Cream Shop alone. However, the Oceanic Festival also includes several other reward sources:

7-Day Login Rewards: Free items including the Solar Halo, a permanent stat-boosting dish, Lucky Tickets, Phantom rewards, and affinity gifts

Ocean Chase: Beach Shovels earned through daily quests unlock treasure boards with Grand Prizes including Lucky Tickets, Magic Drills, Glittering Diamonds, Skill Shard Vouchers, and, from Round 5 onward, 2 Mythic Auroral Badges per Grand Prize

Summer Revery Invite (Web Event): A separate event page offering guaranteed rewards—300 Dawnium for one boost, 5 Bond Trinkets for two boosts, and 15 Destiny Fruits for three boosts—along with a lucky draw for additional prizes

The projected 5,600 seashells do not include potential bonus shells from recurring missions or other event sources. Based on the currently available information, the Festival Shop should be within reach for active F2P players.

Festival Shop – How Much Does It Cost to Clear Everything?

The currently visible limited inventory in the Festival Shop appears to cost slightly less than 5,600 seashells. If the projected 5,600-seashell total holds, F2P players should have enough currency to purchase all limited items, with a small amount potentially remaining for the repeatable Rola exchange.

The safe conclusion: Active F2P players appear to have enough resources to clear the limited Festival Shop.

However, being able to clear the shop and deciding what to buy first are two different things. The recommended priority is:

Purchase Priority Order

· Beach Shovels first – These unlock the Ocean Chase reward chain, giving you access to additional event progression

· Discounted Legendary Auroral Badges and Stellati – Both contribute to permanent account progression

· Major limited progression items – Prioritize anything that helps you reach an important immediate breakpoint

· Farmable materials, ingredients, and ordinary resources – These can be left until later. If the current projection holds, you'll have enough seashells to pick them up afterward

The priority only determines which rewards provide value sooner—it doesn't mean you need to permanently skip the lower-priority items.

Beach Shovel Sources – Where to Get Your Digging Tools

Beach Shovels are the key currency for Ocean Chase, and they can be obtained from several parts of the event.

Daily Objectives (Easiest Source)

Simple daily tasks currently include:

Logging in

Making 6 vendor booth purchases

Praying once at the Goddess Statue

Making one gacha draw

Performing one Phantom summon

Each objective gives 1 Beach Shovel. These are among the easiest Shovels to obtain and can be collected naturally as part of your daily routine.

Recurring Objectives (Blue Objectives)

These can be completed repeatedly during the daily reset period and include:

Spending stamina

Completing Destiny Explorations (every 20 completions = 1 tier = 1 shovel)

Claiming daily dungeon rewards

Exploring Material Realms

Complete the tiers that naturally fit into your normal progression. There's no need to force extra activity solely for the event if the underlying content isn't valuable for your account.

Festival Shop

The Festival Shop itself also offers Beach Shovels as a purchase option, which is why they're worth considering early when spending your seashells.

Paid Packs (Optional)

Limited-time packs can also include Beach Shovels, but purchasing these packs is not necessary to participate in or clear the event.

Key strategy: Spend your Shovels in Ocean Chase instead of holding them until the final day. Based on how previous events have worked, event currencies and progression are generally expected to expire when the event ends.

Ocean Chase – The Treasure Hunt Engine

Ocean Chase is the main reward system of the event, which is why collecting Beach Shovels is so important.

How it works:

Each round contains a 6×6 board with 36 reward spaces

Every dig costs 1 Beach Shovel

Within the same round, you cannot receive the same reward twice

Each dig removes one available reward and increases your chances of finding the Grand Prize

As soon as you find the Grand Prize, you advance to the next round—there is no need to clear the remaining ordinary rewards first

Grand Prize progression:

Round 1: Lucky Ticket

Round 2: Magic Drill

Round 3: Glittering Diamond

Round 4: Skill Shard Voucher

Round 5 onward: 2 Mythic Auroral Badges (repeatable farming loop)

Because the Grand Prize location is random, there is no fixed number of Shovels required to reach Round 5. The 80 Beach Shovels available from the Festival Shop should still provide meaningful progress through the early boards.

Which Packs Are Worth Buying?

The Oceanic Festival offers several paid packs, but none appear to be required to clear the Festival Shop. Here's how the currently available options compare.

$4.99 Summer Chill Gift – Worth it for light spenders

Includes:

Temporal Crystal

Luminium

Stellati

8 Beach Shovels

The Temporal Crystal provides valuable progression resources, while Luminium and Stellati contribute to long-term account development. The additional 8 Shovels also give you more opportunities to progress through Ocean Chase.

Verdict: If you're comfortable with a small purchase, this is a solid value option.

$49.99 Title Rivalry Gift – For established spenders

Includes:

Selectable Water Mythic Relic (the highlight)

Luminium

60 Mythic Auroral Badges

20 Beach Shovels

The biggest advantage is the word selectable. For comparison, there is normally a $99 pop-up pack containing a random Mythic Relic chest. The daily pack costs around $3 per day and provides another Mythic Relic chest after 10 days, but that chest is also random.

The $49 Oceanic Festival pack allows you to choose the Water Mythic Relic you actually need, eliminating the risk of receiving a duplicate or a relic that doesn't fit your current build.

Verdict: For established spenders, this is one of the stronger event offers, especially if one of the selectable Water Relics completes an important goal for your account.

Beach Bash Visage Sets – Cosmetic only

· Weapon set: $2.99

· Outfit set: $4.99

These sets are primarily cosmetic, although Visages can contribute to Style Score and permanent Style Level bonuses.

Verdict: Mainly worth considering for players who care about cosmetics. Neither pack appears necessary for clearing the limited Festival Shop.

F2P Strategy – The Daily Route

Here's the daily routine I recommend while the event is active:

Complete the 7-day login event – Collect the free rewards with minimal effort

Play the Ice Cream Shop mini-game – Complete every stage as it unlocks and claim the 400 seashells

Complete Ocean Chase daily missions – Collect the easy Shovels from the available objectives

Do recurring objectives naturally – Don't force additional activity unless the underlying content is already useful for your account

Spend Shovels in Ocean Chase – Progress to the next round as soon as you find the Grand Prize

Claim Summer Revery web event rewards – Don't miss the 300 Dawnium and free lucky draw attempts

Spend seashells in the Festival Shop – Follow the priority order outlined above

Skip: Chill Blitz (Score Challenge) – This 100-second score challenge features leaderboards, but there are currently no visible ranking rewards, seashell rewards, or Beach Shovel rewards tied to the mode. Unless you enjoy competing for leaderboard positions, there's no need to spend extra time grinding it.

The Bottom Line – Can F2P Players Clear the Shop?

Yes.

The Oceanic Festival looks reasonably F2P-friendly. The daily login rewards and the ability to earn event progression resources through regular gameplay give free-to-play players plenty of opportunities to participate without spending.

But there's one important caveat: The event is time-gated, and some later stages have not yet been fully verified. Complete the available content consistently rather than assuming the entire shop is already guaranteed. The final global implementation may also differ from the China version.
