Marvel Rivals Age of Ultron PvE: How to Beat the Co-op Mode

Marvel Rivals: Age of Ultron PvE Mode launches on July 30, bringing players into Avengers Tower and Ultron's Data Space to battle against Ultron’s powerful drone army.

This new cooperative PvE mode allows players to team up as the Avengers and fight through waves of enemies, complete objectives, and challenge Ultron’s forces.

This guide will explain how the new PvE mode works, what to expect, and how to prepare your team for the battle.

Suit Up — Ultron's Army Is Attacking Avengers Tower

For players who have been waiting for a more complete PvE experience in Marvel Rivals, July 30 brings a new challenge.

The next chapter of Path to Doomsday — Avengers: Age of Ultron introduces a cooperative PvE mode where you and your teammates take control of Avengers heroes and fight against Ultron’s Sentries across Avengers Tower and Ultron's Data Space.

The mode features newly recorded movie dialogue, fresh cinematics, and a gameplay structure built around enemy waves and boss encounters, similar to the Blood Hunt PvE mode released earlier.

Having experience with previous Path to Doomsday events shows that preparation and teamwork are more important than simply having strong aim. This guide will cover how the mode functions, how to build an effective squad, and common mistakes that can cause teams to fail.

Whether you are joining for the story content, event rewards, or simply want to fight Ultron’s army as your favorite Avengers hero, this guide will help you get prepared.

Let’s get started.

What Is the Age of Ultron PvE Mode?

Before discussing strategies, here is a quick overview of the event.

Officially titled Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Age of Ultron, this is the second chapter in NetEase’s Path to Doomsday series.

Unlike the first Path to Doomsday event, which featured an asymmetric Loki mode where one player fought against six others, this update introduces a traditional co-op PvE experience.

Players will control Avengers heroes and work together to defeat Ultron’s drone army.

The story takes inspiration from the movie storyline, with Ultron’s Sentries invading Avengers Tower before players continue into Ultron's Data Space to stop his plans.

NetEase has also added newly recorded dialogue from the game’s voice actors and created new cinematic scenes, making the mode feel more like a story-driven experience instead of a simple enemy wave challenge.

Players who experienced the Blood Hunt PvE mode in April will find a similar structure here:

1.Fight through enemy waves

2.Complete encounters

3.Challenge powerful bosses

4.Work together as a team to survive

When Does It Launch?

The Age of Ultron PvE Mode will officially launch on:

July 30, 2026 (UTC)

The event will be available across all platforms, including:

PS5,PS4,Xbox Series X|S,PC via Steam

Based on the previous Path to Doomsday event schedule, which lasted around four weeks, this mode is expected to remain available for several weeks.

Players will have time to complete the event, but it is recommended not to wait until the final week to claim rewards.

How the Mode Works

Since this is a co-op PvE mode, the gameplay experience is very different from regular 6v6 competitive matches.

Instead of fighting against another team, players must cooperate to manage:

1.Enemy waves

2.Event objectives

3.Boss mechanics

4.Team coordination will be the key to success.

Playing as the Avengers

Players will take control of Avengers heroes from the movie, including:

Iron Man,Captain America,Hulk,Thor,Black Widow,Hawkeye

Based on previous Avengers-themed modes, these heroes will mostly keep their standard abilities.

Players familiar with heroes like Thor or Iron Man in normal matches should quickly adapt to their PvE versions.

The main difference is the type of enemies you fight.

Instead of battling other players, you will face Ultron’s Sentries and progress through specially designed PvE encounters.

Two Battlegrounds

The Age of Ultron PvE Mode takes place across two main locations:

Avengers Tower

The opening area where Ultron’s drones begin their attack.

Players will fight through the initial stages while defending against waves of enemies.

Ultron's Data Space

The deeper and more dangerous area players enter as they progress through the mission.

Each location features different enemy density and objective structures.

Players should not expect to clear Ultron’s Data Space in the same way as the earlier Avengers Tower stages, as the difficulty and encounter design will change throughout the mission.

How to Beat the Age of Ultron Co-op Mode

Now let’s get into the actual strategy.

In Marvel Rivals PvE modes, success depends more on teamwork and coordination than individual performance. A well-organized team will always have a better chance of clearing the mode.

Here are the key strategies to complete the Age of Ultron Co-op Mode.

Build a Balanced Squad

The most important rule is simple: do not build a team with six Duelists and expect an easy clear.

A PvE mode focused on enemy waves and boss battles heavily punishes unbalanced team compositions.

Your squad should include a combination of all three roles:

One or Two Vanguards

A frontline hero is essential for controlling enemy pressure and protecting your damage dealers.

Vanguards need to absorb enemy attacks, hold positions, and keep Ultron’s drones away from the rest of the team.

Heroes like:

Hulk,Captain America,Thor

are natural choices for this role and also fit the Avengers theme of the event.

Reliable Duelists

Duelists provide the consistent damage needed to quickly eliminate Ultron’s Sentries and reduce boss health.

Heroes such as:

Iron Man,Hawkeye

can take advantage of enemy openings and provide strong damage output.

At Least One Strategist

Healing and sustain are extremely important during long PvE battles.

A Strategist helps the team survive when enemy waves become overwhelming and keeps the squad ready for extended encounters.

Most failed runs usually happen because teams lack either:

1.A reliable frontline

2.Enough healing support

Covering all three roles will already give your team a strong advantage.

Focus Fire and Manage Enemy Waves

Unlike competitive matches, spreading damage across multiple targets is not effective in PvE.

Ultron’s drones need to be eliminated quickly before they overwhelm the team.

Make sure your squad:

1.Focuses on the same targets

2.Eliminates high-priority enemies first

3.Prevents enemy waves from stacking

A coordinated team that calls targets will perform much better than players attacking separately.

Respect the Boss Mechanics

Similar to the boss encounters in Blood Hunt, expect Ultron’s battles to include special mechanics that cannot simply be ignored.

Pay attention to:

1.Enemy attack indicators

2.Boss abilities

3.Positioning requirements

Avoid focusing only on damage while ignoring mechanics.

Survival should always come first. Losing a teammate creates a bigger disadvantage than taking slightly longer to defeat a boss.

Keep Your Positioning Tight

The lessons from previous Path to Doomsday events still apply:

1.Avoid splitting up

2.Stay close to teammates

3.Always maintain an escape route

Keeping the team together allows:

1.Strategists to provide healing

2.Vanguards to protect teammates

3.Damage dealers to attack safely

Separating during a horde-style battle often leads to players being defeated one by one.

Event Rewards and Skins

Besides the cooperative gameplay experience, the Age of Ultron event also provides valuable rewards, making it worth completing.

Age of Ultron Skins

NetEase has confirmed several themed skins arriving around the event:

1.Ultron Age of Ultron Armor Skin — a fitting costume for the main villain of the event

2.Scarlet Witch Age of Ultron Costume — arriving on July 31

3.Winter Soldier: The Winter Soldier Skin — an additional movie-inspired cosmetic

4.Luna Snow Carmine Cassette Costume — revealed alongside the event through its own trailer

Based on previous event structures, players can expect rewards such as:

1.Units

2.Gallery Cards

3.Cosmetic items

by completing co-op objectives.

Completing the event missions will provide valuable rewards simply by participating.

Don’t Miss the Time-Limited Event Period

Path to Doomsday events are available for a limited time.

The first chapter lasted around four weeks, meaning rewards may become unavailable once the event ends.

Instead of waiting until the final days, complete your runs earlier to ensure you collect all available rewards.

Tips to Clear the Mode Faster

Choose a Role Your Team Needs

Do not always choose your favorite hero first. Pick the role your team is missing.

Examples:

1.No healer? Switch to a Strategist.

2.No frontline? Choose a Vanguard.

A balanced team made of flexible picks will usually clear faster than a team full of players competing for damage roles.

Play With a Coordinated Team

Playing with random teammates is possible, but a coordinated squad will clear the mode much more efficiently.

If you can play with friends using voice communication, take advantage of it.

Calling targets and coordinating abilities can turn difficult encounters into much smoother clears.

Learn From Failed Attempts

If your team wipes, identify the reason before starting again.

Ask:

1.Was there enough healing?

2.Did the team lack frontline protection?

3.Were enemy waves ignored for too long?

PvE encounters are based on patterns, so making one adjustment after a failed attempt can often improve the next run.

Use Ultron Himself If Available

Interestingly, Ultron becomes a powerful Strategist after his Season 9 buffs.

If the mode allows players to use him, his drone healing provides strong sustain during long battles.

However, players should still be careful with his positioning, as he becomes vulnerable during his ultimate ability.

Final Thoughts

The Age of Ultron PvE Mode delivers the type of cooperative content many Marvel Rivals players have been waiting for.

With its cinematic presentation, team-focused gameplay, and Avengers theme, the mode provides a refreshing break from traditional ranked matches.

Launching on July 30, the event takes players through Avengers Tower and Ultron’s Data Space to fight against Ultron’s drone army.

The key to clearing the mode remains the same:

1.Build a balanced team

2.Focus your damage

3.Respect boss mechanics

4.Stay together

Prepare your squad, complete the event objectives, and collect the Age of Ultron rewards before the limited-time event ends.
