AFK Journey Latest Tier List

In the ever-evolving world of AFK Journey, building a powerful team is the key to conquering Esperia. While some heroes have enough strength to carry a team on their own, consistent success often comes from combining heroes with complementary abilities. As the game continues to receive balance updates, the hero meta can also shift, making it important to keep your roster up to date.

Version 1.7.3 has introduced new changes to the current hero meta, with Rolan and Voracia joining the roster while several previously overlooked heroes have become more valuable in high-difficulty content. Support, control, and flexible frontline heroes continue to play an important role, while heroes such as Gunnar, Alna, Mehira, and Frieren have established themselves as strong choices across multiple modes.

AFK Journey Heroes Tier List

Below is the tier list of the Heroes:

Best Mage Class Heroes

Shemira

Shemira is one of the strongest SS-Tier Mages in the current meta. Her core mechanic allows her to sacrifice HP to deal massive burst damage before summoning ghosts to recover health, creating a powerful self-sustaining cycle. She performs exceptionally well in AFK Stages, Dream Realm, and PvP Arena, making her a top priority for players building around a Mage core.

Tasi

As a durable S-Tier Mage, Tasi specializes in battlefield crowd control. She performs best with a team built around her abilities and may not fit naturally into random lineups. She remains effective in PvP and AFK Stages, although her performance against powerful bosses is more limited. Her overall position has declined slightly in Season 6.

Cyran

Cyran is an SS-Rank Mage with excellent crowd control. His unique anti-artifact ability allows him to interfere with enemy buffs, making him particularly valuable in high-level PvP. His ability to stun clustered enemies also gives him strong value in grouped PvE content.

Arden

Arden is an S-Tier Wilder Mage who specializes in crowd control. He performs particularly well in PvP and AFK Stages, where his ability to disrupt enemies can create valuable openings for the rest of the team.

Frieren

Frieren is an SS-Tier Dimensional Mage and one of the most valuable newer additions to the current meta. She combines strong burst damage with useful utility, allowing her to perform well across AFK Stages, Dream Realm, and PvP. Her flexible kit also allows her to fit into a variety of team compositions rather than depending on one specific setup.

Mehira

Mehira is an SS-Tier Hypogean Mage known for powerful crowd control and disruption. She can interfere with enemy formations and create opportunities for allies to follow up with damage. Her strong performance in difficult AFK Stages and PvP makes her one of the most valuable control-oriented heroes in the current meta.

Voracia

Voracia is a new S-Tier Mauler Mage introduced in Version 1.7.3. Her kit focuses on grouping enemies together, dealing AoE damage, and gradually unlocking stronger effects through her Fervor mechanic. She is particularly promising in PvP and situations where enemies can be grouped together, although her long-term position in the meta is still developing.

Best Rogue Class Heroes

Faramor

As an SS-Rank Wilder Rogue, Faramor deals significant true damage while also increasing allies' attack power. He can additionally interfere with enemy healing and resurrection effects, making him an especially valuable choice for Dream Realm bosses and difficult PvE content.

Saida

Saida is an SS-Tier Hypogean Rogue with strong lifesteal, self-resurrection, and stalling abilities. Once her passive effects have built up, she becomes extremely difficult to eliminate and can potentially carry an entire team through challenging encounters.

Ravion

Ravion is an S-Tier Rogue who excels in burst-oriented PvP teams. He can eliminate enemies before they have an opportunity to use their key skills. His buffs also increase allies' attack speed and energy while providing shields, allowing him to contribute effectively in PvE boss content as well.

Best Tank Class Heroes

Daimon

Daimon is a durable Tank who also provides support and secondary DPS. His damage scales with enemy HP, allowing him to become increasingly valuable in high-difficulty content. He is particularly strong for pushing AFK Stages and also performs well in Dream Realm and PvP.

Ulmus

Ulmus remains a strong S-Tier Wilder Tank. He provides reliable crowd control, team movement speed buffs, and strong defensive shields. His synergy with CC-focused heroes makes him a valuable option for both PvE content and competitive PvP.

Thador

Thador is an SS-Tier versatile Tank who combines shields, healing, damage, buffs, and debuffs in a single kit. His durability and self-sustain make him easy to use, while his relatively accessible progression also makes him a strong beginner-friendly top-tier Tank.

Gunnar

Gunnar is an SS-Tier Tank and one of the most valuable heroes for high-difficulty AFK Stage progression. His strong survivability and defensive utility help stabilize difficult formations, while his ability to disrupt enemy healing gives him additional value in specific encounters. He is also becoming increasingly useful in competitive PvP.

Alna

Alna is an SS-Tier Celestial Tank who combines frontline durability, crowd control, and ally protection. She fits into a wide range of high-level formations and is particularly valuable when your team needs a reliable frontline capable of protecting its main damage dealers.

Best Warrior Class Heroes

Baelran

Baelran is an SS-Tier Celestial Warrior with high HP and powerful burst damage. He specializes in diving the enemy backline and eliminating fragile targets before they can become a threat. His strong carry potential makes him an excellent choice for Arena and AFK Stages.

Harak

Harak is an A-Tier Hypogean Warrior built around snowballing. After securing a kill or assist, his damage, speed, and survivability increase significantly. If he gets the momentum he needs, he can quickly overwhelm the opposing team.

Perseus

Perseus is an A-Tier Warrior who deals heavy AoE damage and provides crowd control against enemy frontliners. He can also grant temporary defensive buffs to himself and nearby allies, giving him useful offensive and defensive utility.

Best Marksman Class Heroes

Zanie

Zanie is a reliable S-Tier Marksman who combines consistent ranged damage with frontline utility. While she may not be the absolute best choice for every game mode, her versatility makes her a dependable option for a wide range of team compositions.

Bonnie

Bonnie is an A-Tier Graveborn Marksman who also functions as a debuffer and DPS hybrid. Her ability to manipulate Haste allows her to disrupt enemy teams while contributing consistent damage.

Bryon

Bryon is a Magic Marksman who can summon a Falcon and specializes in weakening enemies while quickly finishing them off. After unlocking his EX Weapon, he also gains the ability to revive once per battle. He remains a reliable ranged damage dealer, although his overall value depends more heavily on the team composition and game mode compared with the highest-tier meta heroes.

Best Support Class Heroes

Elijah and Lailah

Elijah and Lailah are twin Celestial Support heroes and remain among the strongest choices for team-wide buffs. Their ability to provide Haste, Energy regeneration, and Ultimate energy refunds makes them one of the most valuable Support options in the current meta.

Koko

Koko is an S-Tier Mauler Support who helps reduce the damage taken by allies while providing various team buffs. Her Ultimate further improves the team's overall durability, making her a reliable choice for difficult encounters.

Velara

Velara is an SS-Rank Wilder Support whose unique mechanic revolves around four Magic Circles positioned around the battlefield. These Circles can provide shields to allies while either healing them or applying debuffs to enemies. After charging the Circles, Velara can also steal enemy stats for her team, giving her strong buffing potential.

Smokey & Meerky

Smokey & Meerky are classic SS-Tier healers and remain one of the most reliable choices for team-wide healing. Their consistent sustain allows them to fit into a wide range of formations, making them a strong Support choice for both new and experienced players.

Phraesto

Phraesto is an SS-Tier Hypogean Tank/Support hybrid with excellent durability and versatile utility. His ability to combine frontline protection with support effects makes him one of the most valuable Hypogean heroes to develop after Elijah and Lailah.

Reinier

Reinier is a powerful Hypogean Support, but his high investment requirements make him less accessible for many players. His abilities perform well in both PvE and PvP, but unlocking his full potential requires significant resources. For most players, he is better viewed as a long-term endgame investment.

Rolan

Rolan is an SS-Tier Celestial Support introduced in Version 1.7.3. His main mechanic revolves around Morale, which gradually increases throughout battle and strengthens the entire team. At higher Morale levels, he can provide powerful buffs and even create effects that recast allied Ultimates. His value is particularly noticeable in longer fights and well-developed faction-based teams.

Solise

Solise is an S-Tier Support with strong healing and sustain capabilities. She is particularly valuable in extended battles where keeping the team alive is more important than maximizing immediate damage. Her reliable performance across PvE content makes her a useful addition to many balanced formations.

Conclusion

The difference between victory and defeat in AFK Journey often comes down to more than individual hero strength. Team synergy, role balance, and choosing heroes that complement each other's abilities are all important for progressing through difficult content.

In Version 1.7.3, the current meta is shaped by a combination of powerful Supports, durable frontliners, control specialists, and flexible damage dealers. Rolan, Frieren, Alna, Gunnar, Mehira, and Elijah & Lailah stand out as some of the strongest long-term investments, while established heroes such as Shemira, Faramor, Saida, Baelran, and Phraesto continue to perform well across multiple modes.

For new players, starting with accessible core heroes is enough to clear much of the game's content. As your account develops, gradually invest in higher-tier heroes that fit your preferred team compositions and game modes. Utility, frontline durability, and reliable Support heroes often provide more lasting value than simply stacking as much damage as possible.
