Dark War Survival — тир-лист героев: каких героев стоит прокачивать

Picking the right heroes in Dark War Survival goes a long way toward how fast you progress and how well your formations hold up in battle. That said, grabbing a Gold or S-Rank hero isn't the whole story — a hero's faction, troop bonuses, skills, stats, and role within your formation all factor into how much value that hero brings.

This updated Dark War Survival Heroes Tier List breaks down the strongest heroes for 2026 and points out which ones are worth prioritizing across the Rider, Fighter, and Shooter factions. It also touches on the best picks depending on your situation, whether that's PvP, PvE, or you're a newer player still putting together your first competitive team.

Quick Answer: Among the top picks are the newest high-tier seasonal heroes — Ella, Sebastian, and Selwyn — along with long-standing top performers like Francis, Margaret, Marcia, Evans, and other strong S-Rank heroes. That said, which one is worth investing in comes down to which troop faction you're building around.

Dark War Survival Heroes Tier List

Think of this ranking less as a strict rarity chart and more as a practical guide for where to put your resources. Newer seasonal S-Rank heroes tend to come with unusually strong faction bonuses, but older heroes can still hold their own when their skills or synergy line up well with your formation.

How the Dark War Survival Hero Tier System Works

Dark War Survival splits heroes into different rarities, and as a rule, higher-rarity heroes come with better base stats. Even so, rarity by itself shouldn't dictate where you put your resources.

How useful a hero turns out to be comes down to a handful of things:

• Faction: Rider, Fighter, or Shooter.

• Troop bonuses: Some heroes hand out sizable bonuses to their faction's troops.

• Combat skills: Damage output, buffs, and other effects shape how useful a hero is.

• Stats: Attack and Defense carry extra weight in Hero Battles.

• Formation synergy: A hero often performs noticeably better alongside others from the same faction.

• Investment cost: A hero you can keep upgrading steadily is sometimes more valuable than a rare pull that never gets developed.

As earlier coverage on this topic has noted, players shouldn't lean entirely on the game's built-in rarity system when deciding who to invest in.

Best Rider Heroes in Dark War Survival

S-Tier Rider Heroes

1. Selwyn

Selwyn is one of the Rider heroes you can't really afford to ignore right now. She arrived as the Rider S-Rank hero in Season 6, alongside Ella and Sebastian.

Her third skill, Raven Blood Pact, boosts damage for Rider troops. Like the rest of the Season 6 lineup, her skills also pile on all-source troop damage bonuses as that third skill gets upgraded further.

Given those faction-specific and all-source bonuses, Selwyn should sit near the top of the list for anyone putting together a competitive Rider formation.

2. Marcia

Marcia is still one of the most solid Rider heroes available. Her combat kit and Rider synergy make her a good pick for players chasing a strong offensive setup.

She's especially worth keeping if you've already sunk resources into Rider troops and would rather rely on a proven high-level hero than start development from scratch.

3. Katrina

Katrina still hits hard once she's properly leveled up. Her kit leans heavily into combat, which makes her a solid pick for anyone who's already put real investment into her.

4. Ryan

Ryan came in as the Season 5 S-Rank Rider and still holds up as a strong pick. Don't mix him up with Selwyn — Ryan is a Season 5 hero, while Selwyn is the Season 6 Rider hero.

He's still worth developing if you've already invested heavily in him, especially since rebuilding an entire Rider formation from the ground up would eat through a lot of resources.

5. Lucas

Lucas is a dependable, general-purpose Rider pick. He can hold his own for players who haven't yet developed the newest seasonal Rider heroes.

A-Tier Rider Heroes

Corleone works well as a fallback when your S-Tier Riders aren't developed enough yet. He can hold down a Rider formation while you work toward stronger long-term picks.

B-Tier Rider Heroes

Cyrus, Joe, and Eddie are best treated as stopgap or low-investment options rather than the backbone of a competitive Rider formation.

Best Fighter Heroes in Dark War Survival

S-Tier Fighter Heroes

1. Ella

Ella is the Season 6 S-Rank Fighter and one of the more important newer heroes in the game right now.

Her Palm Tactics skill delivers a meaningful Fighter troop damage bonus, and her high starting Attack gives her a strong offensive base to build from.

If you're building around Fighter troops, Ella should be near the very top of your development list.

2. Angela

Angela debuted in Season 5 and remains a solid Fighter pick. Her Fighter-oriented bonuses make her especially valuable in formations that lean heavily on Fighter troops.

If you've already developed Angela, there's no need to swap her out the moment a newer hero shows up. Upgrading a fresh hero from zero costs a lot, so existing investment is worth weighing carefully.

3. Francis

Francis is still one of the most valuable established Fighter heroes around.

His biggest strength is the HP boost he provides to other Fighters, which makes him particularly useful for a dedicated Fighter formation. On top of that, his own combat performance holds up well too.

For players who don't yet have a fully developed seasonal Fighter, Francis remains a very solid investment.

A-Tier Fighter Heroes

• Lan

• Selena

• Barnett

• Farhad

Selena stands out as a good option for newer players in particular — she gives you a practical starting point while you work toward stronger long-term heroes.

B-Tier Fighter Heroes

• Tristan

• Liz

• Bob

These heroes can still help you progress, but they generally shouldn't take priority over the stronger S- and A-Tier Fighters once those become available to you.

Best Shooter Heroes in Dark War Survival

S-Tier Shooter Heroes

1. Sebastian

Sebastian is the Season 6 S-Rank Shooter and a big part of why Shooter-focused players should think about updating their formations.

His Moonlit Blessing skill adds a Shooter troop damage bonus, and his high base Attack gives him strong offensive potential.

Since Shooter formations tend to work particularly well against Fighter-heavy opponents, Sebastian matters a lot for competitive PvP players.

2. Margaret

Margaret remains one of the strongest established Shooter heroes around.

Her high damage output makes her a great pick for players who've already put significant investment into her. She should stay a priority for competitive Shooter formations.

3. Evans

Evans is another high-value Shooter with strong offensive numbers. The mix of raw combat strength and Shooter synergy makes him useful in both progression and competitive play.

4. Shadow

Shadow arrived in Season 5 as the S-Rank Shooter and still holds up well.

If you've already put serious investment into Shadow, keep developing him rather than dropping an established formation just because a newer hero has come along.

A-Tier Shooter Heroes

• Megan

• Darian

• Kylie

• Natasha

These heroes work well as alternatives if your account doesn't yet have a fully developed S-Tier Shooter lineup.

B-Tier Shooter Heroes

• Catherine

• Andrew

• Willow

• Masashimaru

These can help you along during progression, but they generally rank lower in priority once stronger Shooter options become available.

Best Heroes for Different Playstyles

A tier list is a good starting point, but the right hero for you really depends on what you're trying to get done.

Best Heroes for PvP

For competitive PvP, focus on heroes that bring strong faction bonuses along with solid raw combat value.

Recommended priorities:

• Fighter: Ella, Angela, Francis

• Shooter: Sebastian, Margaret, Evans, Shadow

• Rider: Selwyn, Marcia, Ryan

Seasonal S-Rank heroes carry extra weight here because their faction-specific bonuses can noticeably boost troop performance.

Season 6 also put a lot of emphasis on PvP and faction-based competition, which raised the value of heroes like Ella, Sebastian, and Selwyn even further.

Best Heroes for PvE and Troop Battles

Faction synergy matters even more in PvE. Generally speaking, it's better to build a formation around one troop faction rather than piecing together underdeveloped heroes from several different ones.

For instance, if your strongest heroes happen to be Shooters, it makes more sense to pour your upgrades into your Shooter formation rather than splitting resources across Riders, Fighters, and Shooters at once.

LootBar's 2026 formation guide echoes this same advice — build your formation around whichever faction your strongest heroes belong to, and lean into the relevant troop bonuses.

Best Heroes for Hero Battles

Hero Battles work on a different system than normal troop battles.

Here, heroes are grouped into Tankers and Strikers rather than being judged mainly through the Rider, Fighter, and Shooter troop factions.

The recommended formation looks like this:

Front Row

• 2 Tankers

Back Row

• 3 Strikers

The two Tankers soak up incoming damage while the three Strikers deal damage from the back line. Base Attack and Defense matter a lot more in this mode, so don't judge a Hero Battle lineup purely by the normal troop-faction tier list.

Best Heroes for Beginners

New players shouldn't try to develop every strong hero all at once.

Resources get more expensive to spend as heroes level up, so it pays to keep your investment focused.

A solid approach for beginners looks like this:

1.Choose your strongest available faction.

2.Identify your best developed heroes within that faction.

3.Focus Hero EXP and fragments on a small core lineup.

4.Upgrade the heroes that provide useful troop bonuses.

5.Avoid spreading resources evenly across every hero.

6.Replace an older hero when the new hero provides enough additional value to justify the investment.

If you've already put a lot of work into an older S-Rank hero, there's no need to drop them the moment a new seasonal hero shows up.

How to Choose Between an Old S-Tier and a New S-Tier Hero

New seasonal heroes usually have an edge simply because their stats and faction bonuses are built around the current state of the game.

Season 6's three new S-Rank heroes — Ella, Sebastian, and Selwyn — all launched with identical 445 Attack and 288 Defense at level 1, and each one gives a 10% faction damage bonus through their third skill.

Even so, the newest hero isn't automatically the right call for every account.

Worth weighing:

Your existing investment: A five-star older hero can often outperform a freshly unlocked hero that still has very few stars.

Your faction: The best hero is usually whichever one strengthens the faction you're already using.

Your game mode: Normal troop battles and Hero Battles judge heroes by different standards.

Your resources: Hero fragments, EXP, equipment, and other upgrade materials go further when concentrated rather than spread thin across too many heroes.

How to Build a Strong Hero Formation

Normal troop battles in Dark War Survival reward faction synergy heavily. If your strongest heroes all belong to the same faction, build your formation around them instead of mixing in several weaker heroes just because they carry a higher rarity.

For example:

Shooter-focused formation

• Sebastian

• Margaret

• Evans

Fighter-focused formation

• Ella

• Angela

• Francis

Rider-focused formation

• Selwyn

• Marcia

• Ryan

The exact lineup you go with should ultimately come down to your hero levels, stars, equipment, and available skills.

For Hero Battles, switch to the separate Tanker/Striker system instead of just copying over your normal troop formation.

How to Get and Upgrade the Best Heroes

Getting a strong hero is really only step one. You also need enough resources on hand to actually upgrade them.

Hero progression generally involves:

• Hero EXP

• Hero fragments

• Star upgrades

• Equipment

• Skills

• Troop bonuses

Try not to spread your fragments and EXP thin across too many heroes at once. Concentrating resources on a small core group usually gets you a stronger formation faster.

Seasonal S-Rank heroes can also demand a lot of resources to unlock and upgrade, so free-to-play players and low spenders should weigh their current hero development before overhauling their whole formation.

Are Seasonal Heroes Worth Getting?

Yes, though it depends on your account.

Seasonal heroes are usually designed to compete with, or outperform, older options — especially where their faction-specific bonuses line up well with the current season.

For example, Season 6 brought in:

• Ella — Fighter

• Sebastian — Shooter

• Selwyn — Rider

All three are S-Rank heroes with strong faction bonuses, plus extra all-source troop damage effects once their third skills are upgraded.

That said, the best strategy for a newer or free-to-play account isn't necessarily chasing down every new hero as soon as they drop. Prioritize whichever hero fits your strongest faction and that you can realistically afford to upgrade.

Final Thoughts

The Dark War Survival meta keeps shifting as new seasons roll out stronger heroes and new progression systems. Treat this tier list as a guide for where to invest rather than a fixed ranking that applies the same way to every account.

Among the current seasonal standouts, Ella, Sebastian, and Selwyn deserve particular attention. Established heroes like Francis, Margaret, Marcia, Evans, Angela, Ryan, and Shadow can still bring a lot of value, especially if they're already heavily upgraded.

The core takeaway is simple: build around your strongest faction, prioritize heroes that boost your troop performance, and concentrate your resources instead of spreading them across everyone.
